6 months later...

As much as I would like to tell myself I can keep my blog updated, proof now has it that I do not have the drive to even post something ONCE a month. :) All that said, here is our top 10 family update:
1) Abigail will be 8 months old tomorrow
2) Abigail is crawling
3) Abigail is almost walking....
4) She is too young to start walking...
5) Abigail inittiated playing peek-a-boo with me for the first time yesterday.... it was sooo cute!
6) Abigial now claps and says "YAY" while clapping. again, very cute!
7) Abigail is just like her dad... loves to watch tv, loves food, has a one track mind, loves music
8) oh, and she looks just like him
9) Abigail loves climbing up the stairs
10) Last but not least... Isaac turned 30 today... that's kind of old to me ;)

Yes, Abigail gets a lot attention around here. Isaac and I must have been pretty boring people before she entered our lives!

Where has the time gone?

WOW! It has been quite a while since I've posted anything on here. My orginal reason for starting this blog was to update the family on our little girl and now it has been two months since I last posted about her. This reminds me of all the times I tried to write in a journal... it would happen about once every year. Of course, another reason why I never did well at keeping a journal was because I was afraid of one of my sisters reading it! :)
Anyways, a lot of things have happened since Abigail was born. We have been SO BLESSED by all of our family and friends. I got to go over to Federal Way to visit my family in Arpil. Abigail was spoiled by her grandparents, aunts and unlces. I don't think she was ever put down for longer then 5 min. :) Auntie Ange came over twice while I was there and held Abigail until I had to tell her I was tired and needed the baby so we could go to bed! My youngest brother and sister, Jonathan and Bethany, loved to hold Abigail. They both did a great job with her. Next time we see them Abigail will be a lot more playful and I'm sure they will have loads of fun with her! My wonderful sisters threw me a lovely baby shower. I was tremendously greatful to all my Cedar Ridge chruch family, Forward family and Temple family for showering Abigail with so much love!

Four generations

Towards the end of April Isaac, Abigail and I headed over to Sunnyside. Isaacs aunts put together a shower for Abigail. The men were invited to the shower so Isaac got to expereince his first baby shower! He had a good time, especially the part where he got to open up the gifts :) Thank you Boboth family, Flodin family and Lower Valley Fellowship for all your love and support!
It has been so much fun watching Abigail grow. She is a very happy, easy going 2 month old. I can't believe how much she has changed. The other day I looked back at her pictures from birth, she was so little!
She loves taking baths now. The other day she figured out how to splash, her whole body starts going crazy now when she gets into the water, it's really cute. Also, last week she rolled over for the first time. I had her lying on her belly and she was so mad at me. All of the sudden, she rolled over. She shocked herself and the look on her face was priceless! Since then she has rolled over a few more times but she won't do it for daddy. Maybe someday she will show him.

Loving her bath!

She really enjoys riding in the car which I'm very thankful for. Oma and Opa got her a swing and she loves it. I love it too cause it puts her to sleep :) Oh, and she loves music and watching t.v. with dad. When Isaac comes home from work he usually will watch some tv. Abigail sits on his lap or next to him and watches it with him. It's kinda cute, and it's makes daddys day to have his little girl with him.
Well, that is it for now. Hopefully I have caught the family up and anyone who is interested ;) Maybe it won't be so long for my next post... maybe... :):)

She is such a happy little girl!

Time to say goodbye...

On April 2nd Isaac's grandma passed away. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February and was only given a few months to live. When Abigail was 1 week old we headed down to Sunnyside to have grandma meet her great grand-daughter. She was so thrilled to see her, it made it her day! That weekend also was our turn to say goodbye to her... holding on to the hope we have in Christ that we will see her again. I'm not good with words but this song I think says a lot.

Sanctus Real
Say Goodbye

So say goodbye 'cause you'll be leaving soon
I know it's hard and I'll be missing you
I know it's time to say goodbye
I know the road has worn you down
You never broke, you always held your ground
But now it's time to say goodbye
And I know we'll meet again but I wish it'd never end
You don't mean to make me cry
But it's so hard to say goodbye
Say goodbye, say goodbye
And though you're gone I remember now
The time we shared, your words still ring out
You're never far, you're in my heart
And I know we'll meet again but I wish it'd never end
You don't mean to make me cry
But it's so hard to say goodbye
Say goodbye, say goodbye
I know we'll meet again but I wish it'd never end
You don't mean to make me cry
But it's so hard
Someday we'll meet again 'cause that's how the story ends
It's so hard to say goodbye
Say goodbye
Grandma we love you!!

Two Week Check-up

This morning Abigail had her 2 week check-up. Doctor said she looks great. The nurse commented (like everyone else) on her full head of blonde hair. I guess you don't find very many blonde babies with that much hair! Our little girl is now 8lbs. 8oz and she is 22 1/4 inches long. Her height is in the 97th percentile, I'm wondering how tall she is going to be. Right now she has big feet and very long fingers. Maybe she will be a piano player?
It is amazing how fast she is already growing. Each day she changes more and more. The other day Isaac was saying how he can't wait for her to get bigger to do things with. As much as I can't wait either, a part of me wishes she would stay this small forever! Oh how much I love my little girl!

Abigail Lynae Flodin

After 41 weeks of anticipation, Abigail Lynae Flodin arrived on March 2nd at 3:07am. She was 7lbs. 14oz and 21in. long. It was quite the experience for Isaac and I. My wonderful mom was there by our side helping us along the way; I was so glad to have her there! I'm pretty sure Isaac had a harder time going through the labor then I did, I think he could of used some drugs to help him get through it. :)
We are so thankful for our beautiful little girl. It is amazing how you immediately fall in love with your child. What a privlage it is for Isaac and I to be given the reponseibility to raise this bundle of joy! Our prayer for her is that she will learn to love the Lord with all her heart and desire to bring Him glory in all she does.
She looks just like daddy!
The Flodin family!
Abigail, mommy and grandma!
Isn't she precious? I love my baby girl!

Two weeks ago a friend of mine, Jennifer Clouse, came over and took some pregnancy pics. She did an awesome job. Here website is jenniferclousephotography.blogspot.com, check her out!

Anyways, I am now 37 weeks along and considered full term. That means that Abigail can come whenever she is ready! Now the wait game begins!

My New Skill

So, it has been freezing cold here in Cheney WA. You go outside for one minute and your body is frozen! Anyways, we have two vehicles a car and Isaac's truck. I get to park my car in our garage while Isaac parks his outside. Yesterday, Isaac went out the door, headed to work. A few minutes later he came back in handing me his truck key and telling me he is taking my car to work because the trucks windshield is frozen. He told me that before I leave the house today to let it run for 20min. No problem!
About noon I went outside and started up the truck. I took the remote for the truck off the key and shut the door. I thought to myself that I would lock the door with the remote, that way I could go back inside and stay warm while the truck was warming up. good idea huh? Well, I kept pushing the button to lock and it wouldn't lock, so finally I opened the truck door and manually locked it then shut the door. I pushed the unlock button on the remote and to my utmost surprise it wouldn't unlock! Here I was standing out in the cold weather with a truck running and the doors locked!
I immediately called my husband and told him my story. He didn't have a spare key for the truck so he told me that I would have to probably call the police. I told him that the door wasn't quite shut all the way and he said I could try using a hanger. So, I got a hanger and for 15min I stood out trying to get the hanger through the door. I was embarrassed every time a car drove by staring at me. It was probably amusing seeing a pregnant lady try to break into a huge truck. I also knew I would be even more embarrassed if I had to call the cops! I got the hanger through the door, now it was the hard part of trying to push the unlock button. I tried several times and failed. It was so cold, I thought to myself I would try one more time... to my surprise I was able to position the hanger just right and... click! I successfully broke into my husbands truck!
I was very proud of myself and called Isaac right away. He was happy for me and told me that I might have found myself a new hobby... breaking into cars! :)

A glance at 2010

2010 has brought many changes in the Flodin household. The year started out with Isaac building up his mobile mechanic business and interning once a week for a HVAC company. While he was working I was busy finishing up my last two quarters at Eastern Washington University. In March we took our annual trip to Cannon Beach with Isaac's family. There we enjoyed the usual Sleepy Monk coffee and fresh crab and of course everyone’s company! In June my family, including my grandparents, came up to my graduation ceremony. Of course, the ceremony was outside and the weather was extremely cold for the month of June. I’m so thankful to be done with that chapter of my life.
A few days after my graduation I was happily surprised to find out that I was pregnant. I was so excited I called Isaac right away and told him there were two lines on the pregnancy test. He had no idea what that meant. We found out in Oct that we are having a girl, she is due Feb. 19th. Her name is Abigail Lynae Flodin. We can’t wait to meet our little girl!
In the summer Isaac kept busy with work, praise God! He also started planning to open a small engine repair shop with his brother Andy and our good friend Tom Ramsey. Through the Lord’s leading West Plains Repair and Service opened its doors in September. I have never seen my husband so excited about work before. God has truly blessed their business. So many costumers have told Isaac how much Cheney needs a place like this.
In August Isaac's grandpa went to meet the Lord. Although it was very hard to say goodbye, it is so good to know that he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that he lived a faithful life for Him.
I have had many people ask me what I’m doing since I finished school. I’m staying home being a house wife and soon to be mom. I also help tutor I young boy twice a week and baby-sit two wonderful girls for a friend from church. I love being able to bring my husband lunch everyday and visit with him at work.
In November, we celebrated thanksgiving with Isaac's family on the Boboth side. I ate so much food that when I had my next doctor’s appointment, the nurse was a little shocked at my weight gain J
December, one of my favorite months, we got our Christmas tree up and I was busy in the kitchen baking. We also celebrated our 2nd anniversary. I have to say that I am blessed with a wonderful husband. I love him so much! For Christmas this year we got to spend a week with my family. This was Isaacs first time spending Christmas away from home. We had such a good time. Christmas Eve was spent at grandma and grandpas where Isaac got to play the traditional dice game. He had a lot of fun and got to see how crazy my family can get! Christmas day was spent with the Forward family where mom made her traditional blueberry French toast breakfast… yummy! The rest of the week was spent with family and friends. Isaac and I got to enjoy a lot of Asian food, but I have to say, I’m a little Asianed out! As we packed our car to head back to Cheney, half of the stuff was for our little girl. She isn’t even born yet, but boy is she already spoiled!
Looking back at 2010 God has truly blessed us. He is so faithful and good! We are thankful for our family and friends who have made this year such a blessing for us. I can’t wait to see what is in store for our family in 2011.
